Today is good.

Although I did not get the tutor. She did not show up at all.

I went to the math tutor, I studied myself. I think today is good.

I saw Dr johnson. This one is Gardson Johnson. I guess I am making progress but not enough. I will doing better after three weeks.

I guess so.

Ok.

Work is fine.

Sleep is ok.

However, the roommate issue is big, we have to find another girl now.

Sandy is upset about everything, but I am trying hard to make her feel better.

Haha. I am a grown up and I will take care of others now.

Final is coming in 2 weeks. Thanks giving gonna be a relax time but I am not going to give up any time for study for final.

I will do my best. I know it. Everyone knows it is so important.

I will be doing all this next month. First final is on Dec.3rd. So early. and the last one is on Dec.16th. So late.

it is long.

However, after all this , I will have a great winter break!

 

I did many things today. I finished everything for csa, the annual budget plan, the request form, and purpose letter.

So many things, and then wait for people. Seeing house, shopping, eating dinner and had a good time playing uno. 

It was a good time. But there are so many things need me to take care. Homework, outlines, and next speech prepare. Mid-term, tomorrow meeting and running. I do not know should I finishing choosing class now or not. 

it is complicated time. Confusing time and no relax opportunity.

Study here is good, meet people here is good ,even sleep here is good. 

Nothing special. just focus on your homework and everything you need to learn.

Today I am here again. the only different is I am prepared. I am not hungry and I have warm clothes for going home.

I know it is important to study so I am in the library. Not at home, no one can distract me and there is no entertainment going on near me. Everyone is studying now, it is hard to not study here.

The purpose of this lab is to help you understand what plagiarism is and to learn how to avoid this unethical behavior. The lab requires you to read the following scenarios and consider the questions for each.

Scenario 1: You are doing your research for your informative speech and find the perfect statement to begin the speech. When you give your speech, you use the quote but do not acknowledge the source. Is this plagiarism? Why or why not?

Scenario 2: You are researching your topic and find an author who articulates the four main points you want to make in your speech. When you give your speech, you change the order of the points and paraphrase or change the wording of the author’s statements. Is this plagiarism? Why or why not?

Scenario 3: You and your friend are enrolled in two different COMS 151 Public Speaking classes from different instructors. You decide to cut down on your workload by sharing your speech assignments. Your friend researches and writes the outline for the first speech and gives you a copy for your speech. You research and write the outline for the second and give your friend a copy for her/his. Is this plagiarism? Why or why not?

Scenario 4: While researching your speech in the library, you came across a set of statistics that undeniably supported your claims. You wrote down the information on a note card with other supporting evidence. A few days later, as you develop your speech, you realize you forgot to write down the source. You think you remember the title of the book but are not really sure. During the speech, you create a title as reference that is as close to the title as you can remember. Is this plagiarism? Why or why not?

Scenario 5: While surfing the net, you find three or four speeches on the topic you have selected. You download all them and cut and paste your speech together. During your speech, you refer to all the sources used. Is this plagiarism? Why or why not?

for the first scenario, it is definetily plagiarism,do not acknowledge the source is kind of use other's word as yours. It is not good.

Second scenario,changing order but same context can be plagiarism too, however paraphrase or change the wording of the author’s statements is kind of rewrite, but you still need to mention who is the oranginal writer.

Scenario 3, it is plagiarism. Simply copy and use it as yours and do not mention why did the research and who write it. Even it is yoru friend and this person agree to do so. It is still unethinic.

Scenario 4, it really depends. You already give credit but you cannot find the organal source name. So it is not a real plagiarism.

Scenario 5, it is plagiarism, cut and paste is the first wrong step and do not mention the authors is the second wrong step.

according to A speaker's guide book " Plagiarism—the passing off of another person’s information as one’s own—is unethical. To plagiarize is to use other people’s ideas or words without acknowledging the source. Wholesale plagiarism occurs when you simply “cut-and-paste” material from sources into your speech and represent it as your own. Patchwrite plagiarism is copying material into your speech draft from a source and then changing or rearranging words and sentence structures here and there to make the material appear as if it were your own."(75)

 

how to avoid plagiarism, and when you are not sure,"The basic rule for avoiding plagiarism as a public speaker is straightforward: Any sources that require credit in written form should be acknowledged in oral form. These include direct quotations, paraphrased information, facts, statistics, and most other kinds of information that was gathered and reported by someone other than yourself. " (75)

It is easy to get into plagiarism, so please be careful to use other's work. Especially articles on internet, try to use tools to exam your paper. Like turnitin.com and other useful tools as well. Always remember give creidit to author when you use any of others' idea, put them in quotation or rewrite it and mention the organal source.

 

 

 

Jutta Says ,she is trying to not give me a F. She said there is no skills required at all. I need more time to read the CQ research and turn in work. Maybe she can give me D in the end. She even said for the outline I turned in, she gave me a C.

She is the most strict professor I have this semester.

I have six cold professors this semester.

English 155 no late, start class 10 minutes earlier. She start to talk important thing to class at8:50!! Class is 9am!

every week two CQ reasearch to read and it is like 50 pages and we need to post two journal entries on web CT.

paper need outline, rough draft in real format, if not she will not read it.

and even the rough one should be  polished by tutor. Final draft will be due and grade with a guide list. She will add outline and rough draft togeter. In her class, there are lots of grammar and she talks a

Math 140 no late and if miss reading online, take off points. Quizzes in half of classes and homework for every class.

Econ160 no late. quizzes every class and use clickers.

Accounting 220 no late. quizzes every wednesday, and homework every monday. on line weekly homework. 

Speech class no late and there are so many quizzes for each week. And there are so many labs and stuff to do.

Asian American Study is better and there is only a few work to do.

I wish I can get through.

 

she finally said something postive. She said my paper has potential,but definetlly need more work.

This is a tough class and this is a strict teacher.

She is from German, I heard that Germany cares about grammar even more than American does.

This is terrible news for lazy students. If student have problems with time management, then he or she probably failed in her class. This is not easy, and it is struggling experience.

Hahaha. I am in her class and I am still alive. Hopefully, I will pass.

Thank god to bring me into her tough class.

The reason why I was stressful is about this big business event-- Meet The Firm.

I was nervous about it. Things like how should I dress like, how should I get there, who is going with me, how should I talk to people, and how to write a resume.

Now everything worked out perfectly.

I got ride from Sonja and I was doing the volunteer for student checking in.

I wrote two resumes and get them fixed with the career center.

I realized that one of my dresses can be a business formal.

I did find a way to start conversation and just bring on.

The result is not bad although I do not have any experience of working and I am just a sophomore. There are still opportunities to get an internship. There are some small firms and big firms to show me what are they doing and what can I do for them. I learned a lot and I know when is the right time to apply a job, like students who finished accounting 351.

I think this is all I want to say about this event.

Well. At least I had been there. Meet the firms and give out resumes.

Hopefully, I got an internship this time but what I need to do is go to those companies’ website and write thank you notes to those people who gave me a business card.

 

 

 

it is a nightmare to read at the last day or minutes. and the online quizzes or assignments are due right away.
Such an experience is not good. Although I can make it through and get credit but it is an pressure to do so.

The best way is plan ahead and read ahead. Yes. it is true!

 

Today is my busiest thursday, I guess.

Morning class starts at 8:00 AM, and finished at 9:30.

Then I heading to my csa officers meeting. Untill 11:am

Next is mentor meeting.

Then it is mediation class which is really nice and surprise to meet my old friends amy and kim there.

I have two hours to sleep. I went back home and made some phone calls.

it was 2:30.pm

I slept until 4:30pm

Heading to evening class.

 Finish class around 7:00

Heading library lawn ,get to listen to that speech.

Getting some food.strawberry was nice and the free coke is good.

Know a person who is freshmen, actrully it was freshmen convocation.haha

Talk with this guy a long time, because he had some intresting background.

 10pm Heading home. then find out we need to clean the kichen. Start now.

11pm a visitor. a guy returned my notes and get some information from class.

12:00am call family.

12:30 find that I have to read for tomorrow two classes.

Tomorrow is another busy day. Have a long day class. and had plan with yao , she wants to eat at school dorm dinning , and I want to try that too.

 again, after two classes, I will go to csa meeting and coffee hours if I could. Then I will get some homework done and go to some student department to ask questions ...

what a fresh start!

I thought the first week was the worst of all, but I didnt know that the second week is still so hard.

 

continue didnt sleep more than 24 hours and just sleep 3 hours? what is that ?

Although today I did not have any class, but still I had a bad headache.

I do not want to do anything related to reading or tying !

However, I have homework due tomorrow!

Two most annoying subject both require online reading and book reading and homework is so much!

AH. I suppose to sleep when I think of my unfinished homework.

Betty, you dont have to take so many classes! Yes I know, But I want to graduate earlier.

I hope I can still make it and also drop a class in this situation is not a good idea!

Hell schedule is full now untill saturday.

Do not ask me go anywhere and I probally say sorry, I cant make it.

 

Now I am really tired of moving. once a year big moving and once a month small moving.

All because of I am not settle down.

When can I have my own house and own car? Then I can stop moving and stay in one place. At least two years?

Hell it is my strongest time in my life, I can carry so many stuff by my strong arms and run so long with my strong legs.

I just hope the job hunting will be fine, and I can be accept. I want to work in library, and get my first job this fall.

Wish everything will be ok in the next days.

Every nights, I had some dreams. Sometimes they are weird and sometimes they are only some sad stories.

Even sometimes there are something never happen in real life, but they were in my dream. That's my day dream.

I am a girl have dreams and fantasies. However, the reality is always sad and hurtful.

Just one week left in summer school, I am working on my paper now.
Suddenly I don't want to upload my photos on line. There are so many werid people. Strangers say something very bad.

As someone in Wonderland said to Alice, it's best to try to believe at least three impossible things before breakfast. The funny thing is once you let yourself believe them, they don't seem all that impossible to begin with. The first step is to let yourself believe that such benevolence is in store for you. So go ahead -- what are three wonderful, lovely and no-way-that-could-happen-to-me things that you want in your life?

2. I will go to my dream grad school.

and also I believe my life can be better and all the bad situation will passed.

Monday is a great day, I feel happier.

The paper are ok and I get them on time.

New paper needs some information, and I already have them.

I love library a lot and I found a great one in pcc.

The teachers gave great lectures and I think I understand them better than before.

I am getting there. i love to read the text books and other related books.

I cleaned the room often and do lthe aundry. It seems everything under my control now.

Get a ebay account now, and I would like to learn how to shopping on ebay.

 

Everything happend today seems better than I thought they would be.

My laptop is fixed, and for free.

The two exams were ok, I can pass.

Three weeks past and there are no major problems.

Find a way to fix some electornic thing.

Being ignored and feel bad, but it is not a problem now.

Finally figure out a way to think less of trouble things.

That is study. Like focus on school and learn another language.

Being helpful for everyone untill send them to airport.

THEN I can cry like a child. THAT I can't avoid. I knew it.

It is morning actually, but I still up to write my essays. I want to make them better so I have to pay more attention to them.

However,two tests is going to be give tomorrow. I think I am not really ready yet. This is a had situation. With family around,

I can't really focus on my studying. Also there were so many distractions. Plus, recently I was not happy. ABout their leaving and

a lot of stuff going on.

I felt unsafe and fear of future. I know I can do it alone but it just needs time to adjust.

Everything has two sides and I understand that very well. If I can choose, I want everything is perfect. But it is untrue.

Lately, my essays sucks, and I need more time to practise. Untill years after, I can write free without tutor and dictionary.
